Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Snubbed Again
By Keith Schultz
Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!
The Chicago Blackhawks didn’t have their greatest season ever, but it wasn’t that bad either ending the season with the 5th best record in the NHL. So it’s been a little bit of a surprise that the only player to be a finalist for an NHL Award has been Artemi Panarin.
Jonathan Toews has been snake bit when it comes to the NHL Awards. He didn’t have his best season so not making the final cut in the Selke Trophy voting is something you could see coming. I still don’t see how Ryan Kesler had a better season than Toews but that’s how the voters voted.
The Snub really came on Wednesday afternoon when the Mark Messier Leadership Award was announced and the Chicago Blackhawks Captain didn’t make the final cut. You can say all you want about Toews offensively and defensively this past season and how he didn’t play his normal great game, but you can’t question his leadership abilities.
Toews is the best Captain in the NHL and he’s been the Captain since this team was just in it’s infancy stage. If you were starting a team. Toews would be your pick simply because of his leadership so now matter who they thought was deserving for the Leadership award, they doesn’t stack up to #19 in Chicago
