The Blackhawks Are Still Working the Phones

It also appears that the Blackhawks are not done dealing. Jay Zawaski, Hockey Columnist for CBS Local and 670 informed on what the Blackhawks are looking for:

So the Blackhawks are looking for a guy who can play on the fourth line with Tanner Kero and Ryan Hartman. It is clear to Jay Zawaski and everyone else who follows this team that Jordin Tootoo and Andrew Desjardins are not cutting it. Combined they have 1 POINT this season.

The Target are Starting to Dwindle

Clearly the Blackhawks need an upgrade, but their targets are starting to Dwindle.

I thought Brian Boyle would fit this mold and could help the Blackhawks.  Boyle has been dealt the Maple Leafs for former Blackhawks Byron Froese and 2017 second round pick.  With Boyle being gone, the Blackhawks were also looking to Alex Burrows per @JayZawaski670

Burrow was dealt to Ottawa for Jonathan Dahlen.

Players to Consider

They are names on the Market that have to be traded at the forward position. Thomas Vanek is a player that Red Wings need to move for prospects. He is on a one year deal and has been productive this season. Vanek has 15 goals and 23 assists. Is he a bottom six forward? Yes, but i doubt he plays physical enough to meet the need.

More from Blackhawks Rumors

Another player to consider is Radim Vrbata. Vrbata can give the Blackhawks some more depth scoring and is not a top line player at his age. He is currently on Arizona who is a seller dweller and wants to get assets for Veterans. He can still score, he has 46 points this season with 15 goals.

Players to Avoid

The team needs to stay away from Jarome Iginla. He would not be worth the money and compensation required to get him. He would be a nice story similar to Kimmo Timonen, but not worth it just like Timonen.

If all else fails please, the Blackhawks can reacquire Jeremy Morin.. Just kidding.

The trade deadline is 3pm EST on March 1st.
