The Chicago Blackhawks travel to the home of another Original 6 franchise as they face-off against the Toronto Maple Leafs in a game with plenty of playoff implications.
The Chicago Blackhawks with their 2-1 victory over Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild loss took a 3 point lead in the Central Division on Thursday night.
The Blackhawks travel to Toronto to see if they can sweep all of the Canadian teams on this trip with wins over Montreal and Ottawa already.
The offense hasn’t been clicking since Artem Anisimov left the roster with an injury in the Montreal Canadiens game, but they did just enough Thursday to skate away with 2 points.
The Hawks will be looking for more production from their bottom 6 since it’s been a whole bunch of the top 2 lines that have been carrying the load lately. It would be nice to Ryan Hartman go get back on the scoresheet tonight.
The Maple Leafs have a one point lead over the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning so this game means a lot for this young roster coached by Mike Babcock. The Hawks face Auston Matthews who has 31 goals in his first 69 games, so the Hawks defense will have their hands full tonight stopping the youth of Toronto.
