Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The month of March is over today which means that the Stanley Cup playoffs are right around the corner which should put a smile on everyone’s face.

There are two hashtags you seem to see year in and year out on Twitter about the NHL.  One is #IsItOctoberYet and the other one is #IsItAprilYet.

Yes, I have used both many times on Twitter especially when one of them seems like a long time away.  The great thing is that it’s April tomorrow which means we will get to see if the Chicago Blackhawks can get some revenge on the Western Conference from last years early playoff exit.

This version of the Chicago Blackhawks is a lot younger than last years with plenty of youngsters in the lineup including Nick Schmaltz and Ryan Hartman which makes for a lot of question marks in this year playoff roster, but the one thing that should give Blackhawks fans plenty of hope is that Marian Hossa and Jonathan Toews seem to be playing at their normal high level heading into the month of April.

The Chicago Blackhawks are back home tonight after a pretty rough road trip that did end on a high note with a 5-1 blowout against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Hawks now face-off against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that is looking for home ice against the Penguins in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

It will be kind of sad seeing Brandon Saad, he was supposed to be part of the core for years to come, but it wasn’t meant to be.
