The second to last regular season game of the season is tonight in Anaheim, and while the Ducks are fighting for 1st place in the Pacific Division, the Chicago Blackhawks are playing 2 meaningless games to end the season in California. 

The Chicago Blackhawks are showing how meaningless  tonight’s game with the Anaheim Ducks will be when it was announced earlier today that Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Duncan Keith, and Niklas Hjalmarsson will all be watching from the pressbox tonight for some much deserved rest before the playoffs begin.

I had been hoping for Coach Joel Quenneville to decide to give some of the veterans the week off especially Hossa, so I was pretty excited reading the update about tonight.

Some other news that was told to everyone today is that Artem Anisimov has been skating and is on schedule to be playing when the playoffs begin next week, but he won’t be on the ice in LA on Saturday night.

So with all the players missing we do get to see some interesting lines tonight.

I do like the fact that Coach Q isn’t benching Artemi Panarin so he can’t have a shot at his incentive bonus, and that Tanner Kero is still in the middle of the Breadman and Patrick Kane.
