The Chicago Blackhawks will face the Nashville Predators in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the 3rd time since 2010. The two Central Division foes kick off the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs at the United Center this go around.
The Chicago Blackhawks have opened up against the Nashville Predators twice since 2010 and in both years it was a springboard to the Stanley Cup for the Chicago Blackhawks. Both times the Hawks won in 6 games in the opening round of the playoffs against the Predators.
The first time the Chicago Blackhawks played against the Nashville Predators in 2010 it was
saving the day when it looked like the Hawks were about to go down 3-2 when they were trailing very late in the third period at the United Center. Kane’s goal turned around the series and the fate of the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Drought.
Of course it was Kane that tied it, but it was Marian Hossa that won it when he got out of the penalty box after serving his 5 minute major! The Hawks would go on to win the next game in Nashville after the Hossa magic in overtime.

The Chicago Blackhawks in 2015 was a different story with Scott Darling getting a ton of the headlines when he came in after the first period of Game #1 of the series with the Hawks down 3-0 and carried them all the way until Corey Crawford took back the net in Game #6. This was a springboard for the Hawks to win the Stanley Cup in 2015 as well.
