The Chicago Blackhawks have played two series against the Nashville Predators in the Jonathan Toews/Patrick Kane era, and there has been a lot of great memories in that time. Here are my Top 5 memories between the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators.

5. Chicago Blackhawks finish off Predators at Bridgestone

The moment here was that the Hawks survived the first round series against the Predators which had to be the worst possible matchup for the 2010 Blackhawks on their march to the team’s first Stanley Cup championship in 49 years.

The Hawks marched into enemy territory with a very exciting first period that featured 7 goals with the Hawks scoring 4 of them.  The game wasn’t sealed up until the final seconds when

John Madden

knocked in an empty net goal for the insurance goal.  Of all the teams to play in the opening round the snoozer Preds were the team not to face, but they had survived the test.

4. Brent Seabrook wins it in triple overtime

The Chicago Blackhawks took a commanding 3-1 series lead when Mr. Overtime Brent Seabrook blasted one in triple overtime.  It was really getting late, and the play wasn’t that great so I kind of wanted the game to just end, well with a Hawks win. I had tickets to Game #5 in Nashville so I was hoping to see the series end which as we know didn’t happen, but Seabrook came through to end the marathon.

3. Scott Darling saves the day

Scott Darling was probably sitting on the bench at Bridgestone Arena thinking he had the best seat in the house for the playoffs, but after Corey Crawford let three goals in during the first period he was pulled.

Darling saved the day while making every save in the double overtime thriller.

Duncan Keith

scored the goal when he beat

Pekka Rinne

but it was Darling that was the #1 Star of the game which really saved the Hawks from digging a big hole against the Predators.

2. Patrick Kane ties Game 5 very late

Ok, this is one of the biggest goals in current Chicago Blackhawks history.  They were about to go down 3-2 and head to Nashville for an elimination game.  The Predators did the Hawks some favors in their own end before

Jonathan Toews

picked up the puck and started a rush that ended with

Duncan Keith

and

Patrick Kane

in front of

Pekka Rinne

with Kane tapping in the rebound.

1. Marian Hossa wins it

Sure, my top two moments are from the same game, but if you are ranking most important games in Blackhawks history, to me this is the biggest most important game.  It’s a game that put the Hawks on the right path, and gave them the ability to comeback at anytime in any game.

The highlight of course is Hossa coming in after a 5 minute boarding penalty, and scoring the overtime winner.  It’s good to see Brent Sopel and Dave Bolland in this highlight as the Hawks win Game 5.
