The Chicago Blackhawks take on the Nashville Predators for Game #2 of the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs with a big need of a victory.
The Chicago Blackhawks first game didn’t go as expected with the Nashville Predators stealing Game #1 with a goal midway through the first period, and then they stacked a ton of defenders on the blue making it almost an unwatchable game at times.
There was one team I’ve always hated watching, and that was the Predators during the Barry Trotz era. When he left I was hopeful that we were done with the snoozer play, but it reappeared in Game #1 so getting an early lead to open up the ice is a big deal.
One way to get some goals is to get bodies in front of the net and getting some dirty goals. The player with some of the best chances was Artem Anisimov who was playing in his first game since getting injured during the regular season. Hopefully his timing will be better as well in Game #2.
The Hawks made Pekka Rinne look like the goalie that was a star earlier in this decade, so they need to get shots from in close instead of getting shot after shot from the point get blocked.

Overall, the defense played pretty good with only one lapse all night although it was that lapse that was the deciding goal.
The lines will be different tonight with Dennis Rasmussen joining the lineup and John Hayden sitting out.
We will have to wait until tonight to see if the change works out or not, and it will all be on National TV tonight! Here are the listings for tonight’s game.
