Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there, and especially to Gail a Mom on our staff, and of course to all the Moms out there that stop by and read Blackhawk Up!

My Mom doesn’t read Blackhawk Up but Happy Mother’s Day Mom! It’s because of both my Mom and my Dad that I’m a sports fan that’s for sure!

My first memories of sports is sitting in left field of Old Comiskey with my baseball glove sitting next to my parents and my brother cheering on the Sox and of course Chet Lemon who played left field at the time.

We would get to go to usually one Blackhawks game at Chicago Stadium a year which was the highlight of the year since you couldn’t watch any home games on TV back then.

My Mom would throw BP before baseball games when I was a kid, and be the biggest cheerleader out there when she wasn’t yelling at my Dad for yelling at me the whole time!

It’s funny how much your Mom is there every step of the way!
