Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Draft weekend has come and gone, and now we just have the pieces left to pick up.
First off, it was great to see the city and Chicago Blackhawks fans get behind the draft and set a new record attendance!
One thing you can always expect from Rocky Wirtz and John McDonough is a first class event, and the draft went perfectly, but I do wish this kid could have had a shot at announcing something before the Vancouver Canucks pick.
Anyways I digress, the two biggest trades were the Niklas Hjalmarsson trade and the Artemi Panarin/Brandon Saad deal.

I’m pretty fairly sure this response is how most Chicago Blackhawks fans feel about the Panarin/Saad swap.
Saad is the one that got away, and we are happy that he is back except we wish we could keep the Breadman too.
The Hjalmarsson trade only makes sense to fans if you are thinking long term past 2019. The Hawks got incredibly younger with the deal which is why Stan does the GM thing and Joel Quenneville coaches the hand that is given to him.
