Chicago Blackhawks Top 100: #99 Kris Versteeg
This year our countdown to opening night will be a countdown of the greatest Chicago Blackhawks of All-Time. Here is your chance to agree or disagree, it’s all fun looking back at some of our all-time favorite Blackhawks of all-time.
Kris Versteeg like our #100 player Johnny Oduya is a two time Stanley Cup Champion with the Chicago Blackhawks which very few players on this list have on their resume.
When Versteeg was a young kid on the 2010 team, he looked to be ready to start a very long career with the franchise, but after he rapped his way into the hearts of many fans at the 2010 Championship parade and celebration.
Kris Versteeg stats on hockey reference is pretty long with all the teams he’s played for since cracking into the NHL with the Hawks in 2007-2008. He’s played with the Blackhawks the longest so here are his career stats
Games-294
Goals-68
Assists-96
Points-164
+/- 42
Playoffs
Games 66
Goals-12
Assists-19
Points-31
Stanley Cups-2
Of course the most impressive thing is that he won two Cups with the 2nd one coming as the first big Blackhawks fans favorite to “come home” after being forced to leave due to the Salary Cap.

The Chicago Blackhawks fans kind of soured on Versteeg the second go around because he wasn’t the same player, but he played his role for the most part on the second line with Patrick Kane and Brad Richard. They had a fantastic December of 2014 before breaking his thumb at the Winter Classic in Washington D.C.
What is your favorite memory of Kris Versteeg in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform?
For now he’s #99 on my list! What do you think? Too low? Let me know in the comments section of the post!
