Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks apparently made the final 4 list of Cody Franson or at least that was the list leaked on Tuesday.

Ever since free agency came and gone, the one player that many fans and blogger have been saying would be a good fit for the Chicago Blackhawks to either sign or sign to a PTO was Cody Franson.

The reason is simple, the Hawks are incredibly thin at defense after trading away Niklas Hjalmarsson this spring.  The only two core defenseman that are left as we know are Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook.

I do like Connor Murphy being added to the core for the simple fact that he has hardly no tread on the tires and boy does he look excited to be a Chicago Blackhawk after getting rescued from the Arizona desert.

The thing is after those three names it’s a real crapshoot on who will be able to step up their new role, and who will fail miserably.  I liked Michal Kempny last year and feel like he didn’t get enough ice time, so I’m excited to see him get a lot more action.

Gustav Forsling, Jan Rutta, and Michal Rozsival are all possible players fighting for bottom pairing minutes which is why Franson would make sense even if it is only for one year.

The depth is very thin which is really crazy because it was only a few years ago that the Hawks defensive depth in the organization was so very deep.

The Hawks made the Final Four, and my mind hopefully it’s where Fanson ends up!
