Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks finally and yes I do mean finally get to play a game with some regulars when they travel to Columbus tonight in the Chicago Blackhawks preseason opener.

The Chicago Blackhawks youth will be heading to Columbus tonight when the preseason schedule begins for the Hawks.

From what coach Joel Quenneville said on Monday after practice is that Alex DeBrincat will be playing tonight while his linemates in practice Nick Schmaltz and Patrick Kane won’t be joining him.

Of course this makes sense from the point that Schmaltz and Kane have made the team already, but the coaching staff wants to see all of the Chicago Blackhawks youth on display against the Blue Jackets.  I would have liked seeing DeBrincat with Kane and Schmaltz, but it will be a good test of him no matter who plays with tonight.

Of course, there will be plenty of other players to watch tonight especially Vinnie Hinostroza who has to play really well to make the opening night roster.  Hinostroza has looked good during the preseason, but he has to be productive on the scoresheet for the coaches to keep him on the roster instead of sending him to Rockford.

There will be talk on the telecast about the trade between the Hawks and Blue Jackets, so it will be interesting to see if Artemi Panarin does play tonight or if we don’t see him face the Blackhawks until they meet in the regular season.

Hockey is here! So are some morning links to start your Preseason game day!
