Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! It’s almost unbelievable that the hockey season is just one more day away!
The Chicago Blackhawks did some more salary cap moves on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming season. One of which I didn’t see coming in the Hawks placing Jordin Tootoo on LTIR.
The good news from the day was the fact that the NHL stated that the Hawks could place Marian Hossa on LTIR which will make the salary cap a little easier to maneuver this coming season.
One thing that is a ridiculous in my mind is that the Chicago Blackhawks wanted to lose Marian Hossa and his production to LTIR, so I really don’t have time to argue with national cynics that think the Hawks and Hossa all along planned on him not playing this year when he signed back in 2009.
So, it was interesting that Joel Quenneville had to state that Alex DeBrincat and Gustav Forsling made the team because Stan Bowman had to “on paper” send them to Rockford to become salary cap compliant.
