The Chicago Blackhawks season finally is here, and boy what a fantastic first period something I don’t think anyone expected but maybe dreamed about.

The opening line of Ryan Hartman Nick Schmaltz and Patrick Kane was one everyone wanted to see, and Kaner really started the season off right with a no look pass to set up a Hartman goal.

It was really great to hear Chelsea Dagger after not getting to hear it much during the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs!  The Blackhawks lit the lamp early and often and the Dagger was played a lot.

Two Blackhawks were back, and Brandon Saad was one of them and he scored two goals in the first period which really got the United Center crowd roaring.

The second pass from Kane was even better than the first when he went full Denis Savard spin-0-rama to set up Nick Schmaltz for his first goal of the season and amazingly 3rd goal of the first period.

The Hawks weren’t done with Saad scoring his second of the night, and then Patrick Sharp was able to score to make it 5-0 which is something none of us expected.

The thing that is amazing is seeing Patrick Kane work his magic on the ice no matter if it’s Artemi Panarin on his wing or tonight with Hartman on the wing.

The best part is after all the waiting for the season to begin, the Hawks came out flying and all the preseason hype about Nick Schmaltz play was seen on the ice in the first period.
