The Chicago Blackhawks take their first road trip of the early season tonight as they visit Toronto and then Montreal in an Original 6 back to back trip starting tonight.

If you haven’t heard the stat of stats from tonight’s contest yet, it is the fact that both these teams lead the NHL in scoring after two games with 15 goals scored a piece.

The Blackhawks have only let in 2 goals while the Maple Leafs have allowed 7 goals in 2 games.  Unfortunately, Corey Crawford will not be in net tonight (he will be starting tomorrow night in his hometown of Montreal), but Anton Forsberg will be making his first start in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be missing Nick Schmaltz on this road trip, but Joel Quenneville is shooting for a Thursday return for the Blackhawks 2nd year center.   He’s had a hard time staying on the ice, but when he’s been on the ice, the Hawks offense and his line with Patrick Kane and Ryan Hartman have been unstoppable.

The lines for the Blackhawks look like this with Artem Anisimov moving up to the 2nd line and Tanner Kero back after missing Saturday nights game.

The defensive pairing remain the same so they will have a big task tonight stopping the Toronto offensive attack led by Auston Matthews and company.

As we move on to the predictions part of the program that I may have to pat myself on the back for nailing the 5-1 Win on the head!  I didn’t get much else correct, but I’ll take that any day!

Final Score Prediction– This is a tough one for me due to the unfamiliarity of Forsberg in net, but this will be a fun game to watch with plenty of goals.  I’m giving both the Cubs and Blackhawks the same prediction which is a 6-4 victory with Patrick Kane leading the scoring with 2 goals.

Three Stars Predictions

#3 Star- Jonathan Toews– 1 Goal 2 Assists

#2 Star- William Nylander– 2 Goals 2 Assists

#1 Star-Patrick Kane– 2 Goals 2 Assists
