The Chicago Blackhawks host the Nashville Predators at the United Center tonight in their first meeting since the first round upset by Nashville in April.
The Chicago Blackhawks are 1-1-1 in their last 3 games and all of them have been without Nick Schmaltz which has really stymied the Blackhawks hot start to the season. The Blackhawks offense has looked much slower without Schmaltz in the middle of the 2nd line.
Coach Joel Quenneville said he was close, but he did change the lines around in practice today with Tanner Kero in the middle of the second line.
The Chicago Blackhawks with Kero on the 2nd line could be a little speedier than they have been with Artem Anisimov in the middle of Patrick Kane and Ryan Hartman. Kero has shown that he’s capable in these kind of spots, so will he be able to come up big against the Predators?

The one thing that is certain is that Jonathan Toews with Brandon Saad has to play better than he did against the Predators last April. Saad has been great in the first 5 games with 5 goals and 2 assists, but these are the games that Stan Bowman traded Artemi Panarin away for Saad.
The defense last spot is still up the in air tonight. Some say it’s Cody Franson and some say that Jordan Osterle will get his first appearance of the season.

The Predictions were going so good until Thursday night’s contest, but I blame the refs and the offsides review for messing up my mojo so I will not even think about Thursday and march on to tonight’s game!
