Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks came back to defeat the Nashville Predators 2-1 in overtime.

The Chicago Blackhawks played a very boring game last night through 2 periods which really resembled most of the games in their four game sweep by the Nashville Predators last April.

The Predators top line pushed the tempo and got lots of chances while most of the Chicago Blackhawks were pretty easy saves for Pekka Rinne.

What turned it around was the effort that the Chicago Blackhawks had during the third period.  They dominated the action and pushed the envelope until John Hayden found Patrick Sharp and he buried a back-hander for the game tying goal.

The one major concern for the Blackhawks moving forward in a season when there are a ton of powerplays is coming up with a different and effective powerplay.  They never have a sense of urgency, and in the first two powerplays Jonathan Toews lost the faceoff which kills 20 seconds off the powerplay just like that.

The Hawks kept the momentum going in overtime, and Patrick Kane found Brandon Saad for the game winner.

The good news is that the Hawks played 6 games in 8 days and now don’t have to play again until Wednesday night, with the Nick Schmaltz injury I’m happy with a 4-1-1 start.

The next start is against the St. Louis Blues on rivalry night, but until then here are some morning links to start your Sunday morning!
