For the second time this month, the Chicago Blackhawks will be hosting the Nashville Predators at the United Center. Earlier this month, the Chicago Blackhawks skated away with a 2-1 win in overtime over their Central Divisional rivals.
The Chicago Blackhawks offense has been very stagnant as of late, so as I’m sure you know by now, Coach Joel Quenneville has shaken up his offensive lines looking for a spark starting tonight.
It’s kind of funny how people always think of the line blender with Coach Q, but he’s been going less and less to the blender than he has in years past. Other teams coaches blend instantly so watching Q go to it now says he’s kind of frustrated with the way the Hawks have been playing lately.
I’m not going to lie, I’m very excited to see what Alex DeBrincat does with Brandon Saad and Jonathan Toews on the top line. DeBrincat is a pure sniper who’s been kind of stuck with a slow Artem Anisimov and older Patrick Sharp. To see him with the top line should be exciting to see if he can get more shots off. I’ve read many that believe DeBrincat is a volume shooter that needs 4-5 shots per game to be a success, well he should be able to get that tonight.

The defense looks to be shuffled as well with Brent Seabrook no longer with Duncan Keith. The defense seems like a harder mix for Coach Q to figure out this season. Sometimes having too much depth is just as bad as having none. Sometimes you just have to figure it out, but having to give players ice time is stunting the growth of the entire unit.
