Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Grand Premiere

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! After a very big third period and win Wednesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks still had practice on Thursday mainly because it was the Grand Premiere of their brand new practice facility. 

The one thing you can say about the Chicago Blackhawks under Rocky Wirtz that you couldn’t say about the Chicago Blackhawks under his father Bill Wirtz is that the Chicago Blackhawks are a first class organization!

It all started over 10 years ago with the simple change of putting home games on TV which eventually led to 3 Stanley Cup Championships since 2010.

The next step in having a first class organization was the opening today of the MB Ice Arena.  The brand new Blackhawks practice arena has two ice rinks, but the best part of the Arena is that it’s for the community with lots of things planned like youth hockey and high school hockey games.

The fact that Rocky built this with the Blackhawks and the community involved is so unlike his Dad who was only concerned about the all mighty dollar bill.  This means a lot to fans my age or older who had to listen to games on the radio because Bill wouldn’t televise games back in the day.

Now everything the Hawks do is just plain special and the new practice arena is just that pretty special from all accounts!
