The Chicago Blackhawks travel to Edmonton to faceoff against the Oilers tonight in their back to back game stretch across Western Canada.
The game tonight could be billed as a matchup between two of the most disappointing teams in the NHL and Western Conference this season.
The Edmonton Oilers were a lot of peoples choice to make it to the Stanley Cup this season after getting to the Western Conference Finals last season, and having the greatest young player on the planet on their roster in Connor McDavid.
The Chicago Blackhawks are well the Chicago Blackhawks and have been a Stanley Cup contender since Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane have come into the NHL.
Strange thing happened though and that is both of these teams are average at best in the first half of the season.
The problem for both is that for one it may be too little too late if they do get things turned around this season because two the Western Conference has very few weak teams to beat up on this season.
The Hawks problem is the fact that Corey Crawford is on I.R for the second time this season, and they are incredibly inconsistent in scoring goals. Joel Quenneville is back to being the mad scientist with the lines so who knows what we will see tonight especially since Artem Anisimov was injured last night.
