The Chicago Blackhawks look to get back to soe winning ways today when they host the Edmonton Oilers at the United Center for a rare Sunday afternoon matinee.

The Chicago Blackhawks looked like they had righted the ship when they dominated the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.  The problem is the only thing that the Hawks are good at is being inconsistent so they laid an egg in the third period against the Vegas Golden Knights, and now they are looking to build a winning streak this afternoon.

The Chicago Blackhawks faced the Edmonton Oilers in their arena on December 29 and played a very solid game if you throw out the final 2:19 when they gave up two goals with the Oilers net empty.  Luckily, Patrick Kane put a special move and the Hawks picked up the extra point.

It’s crazy times right now with the Hawks in last place in the Central Division and 3 points outside of a playoff spot right now.  It seems like every team in the Central Division is playing great hockey while the Hawks are struggling to get on a hot streak.

More from Blackhawks News

One of the bright spots for the Chicago Blackhawks right now has to be Vinnie Hinostroza. Since he joined the top line, Brandon Saad and Jonathan Toews have found their scoring touch once again.  Toews has scored in back to back games and Hinostroza had a 3 point game against the Golden Knights.  Vinnie’s speed sure does make a lot of difference for the top line so look out for him again this afternoon.

Anton Forsberg will be back in between the pipes today, so look for an outstanding effort from him as he tries to keep Jeff Glass on the bench for a while.
