Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks sure did make a couple of moves that were unexpected, and yet it just feels like they shuffled the deck instead of making any real changes.

I knew Tomas Jurco was playing well in Rockford, but I never expected to see on the transaction wire that John Hayden was heading to the IceHogs and Jurco would be back up with the Chicago Blackhawks yesterday.

Yet there it is, maybe the success of Vinnie Hinostroza made the Chicago Blackhawks brass think it was time to give Jurco a shot once again with the Big Club.

Jurco really struggled last season, but I also didn’t mind his game for some reason either.  He has speed and skill, but you always felt like he was missing something to get him over the hump.  Maybe his time in Rockford helped him solve the issues that have plagued him in Detroit and Chicago the past few years.

Jurco won’t see any time on the top two lines which I felt like part of his problem was last year.  He’s not a grinder 4th line guy which is probably the same reason that Hayden eventually lost some confidence in his game.  These guys are scorers so maybe Jurco will make a play or two and be able to stay up with the big club for a while.
