Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks are back in action tonight, and it although they have 31 games left to be played I have a Flaming Hot Take for you this morning!

Of course my reference to Flaming is the fact that the Chicago Blackhawks are playing a home and home series against Calgary between now and Monday night.

The take is the Chicago Blackhawks need to take all 4 points from Calgary and at the most allow them one point in the two games or they won’t make the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year.   The Chicago Blackhawks need to make up some ground in the Western Conference Standings and they can’t keep giving away points to teams like the Vancouver Canucks.

I’m not saying if they only get 2 or 3 points in the next two games they are a lock to miss the playoffs, but it’s becoming more and more unlikely that the Chicago Blackhawks will be playing in the postseason without an extended streak of wins.

More from Blackhawks News

Some teams above them are starting to face the injury bug like the Blackhawks have with Corey Crawford.  The Colorado Avalanche who have been read hot will be missing Nathan MacKinnon for close to a month.  So there are some chances for the Hawks to get back in this thing, but they can’t just give away any more points this season.

The Calgary Flames are in the same position as the Hawks are right now, on the outside looking up in the playoff standings so this will be no cakewalk to pick up 4 points in the next two nights!  The Chicago Blackhawks need to bring their A game every night!
