CHICAGO, IL - FEBRUARY 17: Patrick Kane

The Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has hit a lot of milestones this season in what really has been a disappointing season, and last night he achieved the last one he can hit this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane picked up his 500th career assist on the 6th goal of the night against the Washington Capitals. Artem Anisimov scored the goal with Kane starting the play before the puck finally got to #15.

Kane becomes only the 6th Chicago Blackhawks player to ever get to 500 career assists in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform, and he’s only the 8th U.S Born player to ever achieve the milestone. Here is the list of Blackhawks that have made it to 500!

Kane had been sitting on 499 career assists for a week and a half, and when you look at the Chicago Blackhawks offensive struggles you can point to Kane’s struggles the past few games where he was on one of his longest scoreless streaks of his NHL career.

Kane has also achieved the 300 goal plateau earlier this season, and he eclipsed the 800 career point plateau also this season.  His career statistics now look like this 307 goals with 500 assists for 807 career points.  He’s been climbing the Blackhawks career points list faster and faster since his Hart Trophy season two years ago which has gone with him remaining healthy for entire seasons.

More from Blackhawks News

This season he’s hit a lull, but he’s always been known to go on a hot streak at the end of the season, and if the Hawks are going to make a miraculous charge to make the Stanley Cup playoffs  the Hawks are going to need Kane to get on the hottest hot streak of his career. It’s a long stretch, but we know that Kane can put the team on his back and carry them to incredible places.

Either way, it’s a pretty cool achievement tonight by Kane!
