Chicago Blackhawks Ryan Hartman Next To Get Traded?
The one thing you can say about Stan Bowman is he never waits until the deadline to make moves. Bowman always seems to try to beat the rest of the NHL to the punch like his trade earlier today involving Michal Kempny.
When asked earlier the past couple times he’s been available, Bowman has said the Chicago Blackhawks wouldn’t be a player in the NHL Trade Deadline, but he never said that they would be sellers which is what appears to be the theme right now.
Could Ryan Hartman be the next Chicago Blackhawks player to be moved? Darren Dreger said that the Winnipeg Jets have “kicked the tires” on Ryan Hartman, but they also have had scouts out everywhere around the NHL so it’s not like this trade is imminent.
The thing about Hartman that I don’t like is that he’s way to much like Bryan Bickell before he was diagnosed with MS. Bickell could look like one of the best power forwards in the NHL when he was engaged. Bickell could hit, score, be a body in front of the net, and he was the best when the stakes were the highest during the playoffs.
You can say the same about Hartman’s game. Against the Anaheim Ducks he made a huge hit in the center of the ice and then made a comical duck move to get out of the way of 3 Ducks players charging him. Then on Saturday night he made a gorgeous play right up the middle of the ice to score. The thing is he doesn’t do that on a consistent basis for me, and there are too many games where he’s just skating up and down the ice and not agitating anything.
So If Winnipeg watched his good games the Hawks could get something good in return, but if not they won’t come near what the Hawks would likely be asking for in the Chicago native.
Next: Kempny To The Caps Is A Done Deal
It’s going to be an interesting ride to the finish line of the trade deadline that’s for sure, it’s just weird to be on this side of the deals right now!
