Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight, and the only thing I think about is why did Stan Bowman trade Teuvo Teravainen to the Carolina Hurricanes.

There are two trades that made no sense to me during the Stan Bowman era, and the biggest one is why in the world did Stan feel the need to trade Bryan Bickell with only one year left on his contract and for who knows why throw Teuvo Teravainen in to get the deal done.

This trade started the teams setback to mediocrity if you ask me.  Teuvo may never been the hardest worker off the ice, but he had natural skills that were obvious to everyone around him plus he was so young,

Pull up the Carolina Hurricanes stats this morning  and look who is at the top, Yep it’s Teuvo with 52 points.  If those 52 points were on the Chicago Blackhawks roster it would rank 2nd only behind Patrick Kane this season.

So no matter who small or how much of a work ethic he didn’t have he still would be huge on the roster this season instead it’s a huge batch of inconsistency on the roster this year that will be home for the playoffs for the first time in a decade.

Bowman always talked about building a team for the long haul, and this trade was simply short sighted and completely unnecessary!

The Hawks are a complete failure in my mind this season, and you can point to not having Teuvo on the roster as a big reason why!
