The Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, and goaltender Collin Delia are a perfect 5-0 this post season after beating Manitoba on Saturday night

One of the Chicago Blackhawks’ main focuses last summer was to fix a minor league system that had become complacent over the years.  In a league where the salary cap can keep you from staying successful, it’s harder than ever to keep talent around.  In efforts to get some of their young players ready for the next level, the Blackhawks hired head coach Jeremy Colliton who seems to have the IceHogs dialed in to a deep playoff run.

One player in particular who has excelled is goaltender Collin Delia.  At a perfect 5-0 record, Dellia possesses a league low 1.52 goals against average.  He has also been playing behind a great defensive unit and a phenomenal power play that has scored ten goals so far in five playoff games.

Head coach Jeremy Colliton spoke to the media following the IceHogs second consecutive road win in Manitoba.  The IceHogs return home to Rockford to play game three on Wednesday.

In the World Championship news, Team USA is a perfect 2-0 after beating Denmark on Saturday.  So far in the tournament Alex DeBrincat and Jordan Oesterle have one assist and Patrick Kane has two.  Here are the highlights from Saturday’s game.

Artem Anisimov is also doing well in the Worlds tournament for team Russia.

Finally in an article from The Athletic written by Craig Custance, the Blackhawks are rumored to be a major player when it comes to free agency this summer.  Many people were surprised that both Joel Quenneville and Stan Bowman got to return to the Blackhawks after missing the playoffs so this rumor could be a last effort to fix what went wrong last season.  As Eddie Olczyk has said recently and before, the first thing that needs to be fixed is the blue line so hopefully that is addressed.

Hope you have a great start to your week!
