Tonight, the Chicago Blackhawks faceoff against the Nashville Predators in Nashville.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look to build on their recent success. It seems as though Jeremy Colliton has found a winning recipe with line combinations and defensive pairings. The return of Connor Murphy will also be huge.

As for the Nashville Predators, they are currently on a three game losing streak. The Predators look to rectify that, as they return to home ice.

On the other hand, the Chicago Blackhawks have been playing better lately. The Blackhawks have a 4-3 record to start the month of November.  Here are tonight’s pre-game notes.

Chicago Blackhawks’ Projected Lines

Last Meeting

The last time these two met, the Chicago Blackhawks were dominted on the ice.  In addition the Nashville Predators put up 51 shots on goal.

Moreover, the Predators got three pucks past Robin Lehner. The Blackhawks only had 20 shots on goal. In fact, they were shut down offensively. Pekka Rinne did not let one puck past him, so the even strength play really hurt the Blackhawks on this night.

Special Teams

More from Blackhawk Up

Another important aspect of this game is the special teams. Chicago’s penalty kill unit is ranked 20th.

The Chicago Blackhawks could not keep themselves out of the box last time these two rivals met. The Predators had five power play chances. This needs to change if the Blackhawks want to be victorious.

The Blackhawks power play is struggling right now. They are currently ranked 25th and haven’t been capitalizing on the chances they are given.

Simplicity is the key. Put bodies and pucks in front of the net. Screens create additional high danger scoring chances and allow for more shots off of rebounds. Last time these two met, the Blackhawks came up empty on two power play chances. This is also an area that they should look to make adjustments if they want to be successful in tonight’s tilt.

My Predictions

Pick to Click: Alex DeBrincat

My pick to click tonight is Alex DeBrincat. He has had a point in the last five games.  Tonight, I predict a goal and an assist for DeBrincat.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been playing better as of late while the Predators have lost three straight games. With that being said, the Predators are looking to get back in the win column tonight. They will be playing with intensity and purpose.

The Blackhawks will have to match this intensity for the entire 60 minutes if they want the W tonight. With the way they have been playing lately, I like the Chicago Blackhawks’ chances to win tonight.
