The Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews’ NHL 21 overall was announced yesterday by EA Sports. Toews is an 87 overall in this year’s game.

Jonathan Toews will be an 87-overall player in EA Sports NHL 21. The Chicago Blackhawks‘ captain hasn’t always been favored by the game, with his career average being an 89.6-rating. He’s only been a 90-overall player or higher in 6 of the 13-games he’s appeared in. As a future Hall of Famer, you’d think he’d be rated higher.

I don’t think an NHL video game bothers Toews with their rating, as it bothers other athletes in different sports. He has been on the cover twice and has had a pretty successful NHL career. Three Stanley Cups is way better than being rated high in a video game. It’s not known what goes into the ratings fully, but the game seems to favor offensive players, not two-way forwards.

Fans are split on social media, with some wanting Toews to be rated higher, with others saying it’s a fair rating.

It’s still likely Toews will be upgraded throughout the season. With roster updates during the season, players’ ratings do change. This is just the rating to start the season.

Toews has had some great Hockey Ultimate Team cards. He’s a high-rated player on there, once he gets past the base cards.

The game comes out on October 16, 2020. It’s a late start for the video game series but that, in part, has to do with the draft starting late this year. Fans of the EA Sports Franchise didn’t like their Madden 21 game that came out over the summer. Let’s hope they don’t have the same to say about NHL 21.
