Blackhawks: Final Mock Draft Prediction For 2020 NHL Draft
The Chicago Blackhawks have the 17th-selection in the 2020 NHL Draft tonight. Here’s the final mock draft prediction for Chicago.
As we hit just hours away from the draft, the Chicago Blackhawks remain in the 17th spot for the 2020 NHL draft. If they’re going to move out of that spot, expect it to happen during the draft, not during the day, not before.
Last season, the team selected Kirby Dach with their first selection in the draft. This year, they’re projected in the final mock draft to pick Dylan Holloway, a Left Winger out of the University of Wisconsin.
Just like last season, Stan Bowman hasn’t given us any ideas of who he is selecting. All there are is rumors and mock drafts. The most consistent player in mock drafts for the Hawks is Holloway.
Last season in college, Holloway scored 8-goals and 9-assists for 17-points in 35-games. A year prior, he had 88-points in 53-games in the AJHL.
Here’s the scouting report ‘EliteProspects 2020 NHL Draft Guide’ has for him:
Holloway consistently applies pressure on the backcheck, pickpockets puck-carriers, makes timely hits, wields a disruptive stick — you name it. He never flees the zone early and is a capable east-west attacker who shields the puck from opposing defenders really well.
If he can translate that style of play to the NHL, he will be a solid player for years to come. His game is reminiscent of Jordan Staal. Staal has had a solid career so far in the NHL. If Holloway is just as successful as Staal, it’ll be a great draft pick.
Other rumored selections the Blackhawks are Yaroslav Askarov, Connor Zary, and Noel Gunler.
