The Chicago Blackhawks start their season tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking to defend their Stanley Cup title tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks. While Chicago might not have as much skill as the Lightning, they do know a thing or two about catching teams by surprise during a banner-raising ceremony game.
This being the first game of the season, we do not have a lot to go off of when it comes to lineup changes and potential injuries to keep an eye on. We will be updating things throughout the day on our Twitter page, but as of now, here are a few notes for the game.
Chicago will be without Zack Smith, Alex Nylander, Kirby Dach, Brent Seabrook, and Jonathan Toews. While all of those players come as no surprise, they are still big pieces of this team.
With Toews and Seabrook both out of the lineup, the leadership group on the ice tonight for the Blackhawks will look different. We still do not know who will be serving as the assistant captains alongside Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane this season. The Blackhawks official site does not include any other players wearing the “A” on their jersey outside of Keith and Seabrook.
The Chicago Blackhawks flew down to Tampa Bay yesterday after finishing up their training camp, and boy, are we excited to have hockey back finally! Here is the start time and other important pieces of information to know for tonight’s game.
