The Chicago Blackhawks will welcome their next opponent to town tonight when the Carolina Hurricanes take the ice tonight looking for their fifth win in a row.

The Blackhawks have faced a lot of tough opponents thus far, but when it comes to overall talent and speed the Hurricanes might be the best team yet. After starting the year off poorly against the Lightning, this will be a big test for Chicago.

Carolina has only played six games so far this season compared to Chicago who will be entering their 11th matchup of the year. This is because the Canes have missed some time due to COVID concerns.

The Hurricanes might be one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now, but they are without their greatest line of defense as Peter Mrazek is out with an injury. James Reimer is still well respected in net and can get things done for the Hurricanes, so it will still be a struggle to score goals for Chicago.

One exciting element to keep an eye on tonight will be the special teams battle. The Hurricanes have only given up two goals on the penalty kill so far this season, as they have a 91.3 percentage short-handed. So, it will be interesting to see which group comes out on top.

Chicago has one of the best power plays, the Hurricanes have one of the best penalty kills. As usual, the Blackhawks can not rely on their special teams to get a win. The team needs to be good at five on five, and against a very talented Hurricanes team, they better score the first goal.
