The ‘Hawks are back on the road today. The Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars have their first meeting today before the Super Bowl, and there definitely is something to get excited about for this matchup.
The Dallas Stars have only played eights games this season. Due to COVID exposure, the Stars season got off to a rough start with their first few matchups being delayed. But after starting a few weeks ago, the Stars are one of the hottest teams around.
Dallas is lead by Joe Pavelski. Pavelski was a long time San Jose Sharks forward before joining Dallas last season. The forward has seven goals and eight assists so far this season and his line with Jamie Benn is one that could be tough for the ‘Hawks.
The Stars are a playoff-caliber team, and the Blackhawks will see a lot of them this season. Dallas is great defensively and any goal scored on this roster will need to be earned for the Blackhawks. The two areas that Dallas and Chicago are pretty even would be the man advantage. The Stars have scored 14 power-play goals this season and has also scored 14.
The Blackhawks have made special teams an area of strength against different opponents, we will have to wait and see how the ‘Hawks do against another team with great special teams units.
