The Chicago Blackhawks have an away game tonight after playing three games in four days against the Tampa Bay Lightning. A matchup against the Dallas Stars is a welcomed challenge for the ‘Hawks.
The Stars have been at home for the past four games, and that little homestand has not been nice to the team. Dallas has won just one game in the past four games, and when looking at the last ten they are 2-6-2.
Dallas has definitely fallen off since going to the Stanley Cup Final last season, and Chicago can not give them an inch tonight. The Blackhawks have the fourth seed all to themselves right now. Columbus is six points behind and Dallas is a full 12 points behind. Tonight’s game should be an opportunity for the ‘Hawks to pick up some points and continue to work towards the playoffs – the team does not need a hiccup.
The Blackhawks skated with the Lightning a few nights ago, and that was great to see. That success also means beating a team like Dallas tonight needs to happen, otherwise going 1-1-1 against the Lightning was for nothing.
The Blackhawks need to get the most out of tonight’s matchup against Dallas.
With games against Florida and Tampa Bay to follow this stop in Dallas, picking up some points tonight and on Thursday are a necessity for the ‘Hawks. Tonight’s game will also be a major milestone for one Blackhawk.
