The Chicago Blackhawks caught a big break last night against the Florida Panthers. With a 2-0 lead in the second period, the team saw Florida take u puck up ice on a 3 on 0. While it looked like the team’s back was against the wall and they were going to enter the third with just a one-goal lead, Kevin Lankinen made the stop to keep things 2-0.

This was the message of the night. Lankinen stood on his head against the Panthers making 41 saves during the team’s 3-0 lead. This was a great all-around game by the Blackhawks.

Chicago was perfect on the penalty kill stopping all six opportunities from the Panthers. The team should not have taken that many penalties but they did their best to get the win in the end.

Lankinen was the MVP of the game for the Hawks. He was perfect throughout the entire contest even when it looked like the team was in a corner and was going to falter.

Take a look at the save of the game from Chicago Blackhawks’ goalie Kevin Lankinen.

If the Panthers did score on this play then they would have gone into intermission down by just one goal with all the momentum. This goal really did save Chicago the game as I am not that confident that the team would have been able to pull out a win going into the third down by one.

This game means a lot to Chicago. Now they have a three-point lead over Columbus and a four-point lead over the Nashville Predators. Heading into a weekend with two games against Nashville, it is nice knowing that the team does have a few points over their opponent.

Chicago needs to let their momentum from the past two games against Florida carry over for their games against Nashville, hopefully, Lankinen will be in the net as he has been rock solid!
