The Chicago Blackhawks have not faced the Nashville Predators since January 27th. The two teams have only faced off twice, with Nashville winning both games in extra time. With the playoff picture already being so prevalent, these games truly are a must-win.

The Blackhawks losing streak cost them a lot of stock in the standings. Their high win percentage dropped and now they are just four points above the Predators who have 33 points this season. Chicago on the other hand has 37, and both teams have played the same amount of games.

According to HockeyViz, the Blackhawks have a 27% chance of making the playoffs compared to Nashville’s 25% but keep in mind, these two points can swing the percentage five percent in either direction.

It is nice knowing the Hawks go into this one with a couple more points, but these wins are necessary to the team. Winning in regulation can help separate the Hawks from the Preds, and if that happens now then Nashville will be more likely to be sellers at the deadline.

Nashville has a below-average penalty kill and an average power play. The Hawks are going to want to take advantage of any chance on the man advantage because the Predators have two good goalies in Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne.
