The Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators face off again tonight, and hopefully, the Hawks are ready to go by puck drop. Chicago did not show up to play last night. Despite relatively good rushes and the team trying their best to get back on track, they just could not pull away with a win in the end.
With Kirby Dach back with one game under his belt, hopefully, the team is ready to go a little more tonight. It is weird to call a game this early a must-win, but it honestly feels like that for the Hawks. While there are no fans in the stands, expect a playoff atmosphere tonight as these two teams are going to see a lot more of each other in the future with key points in the standings on the line.
Kevin Lankinen played last night, making 31 saves on 34 shots. While I do think the thought of Lankinen playing back-to-back games is something that Colliton wants to explore, I do think the organization is going to have to trust Malcolm Subban to be a rock in net tonight.
The Hawks need to limit how many second or third scoring opportunities they allow the Predators to have in front of the Hawks netminder. Subban and Lankinen can both be better at rebound control, but at the same time getting bodies around the net to help clear things out is going to be essential.
For a little update on the Predators check out our friends over at the Predlines for all things Predators. Obviously, they are feeling pretty good about their team after last night’s game.
