Blackhawks News: Adam Gaudette gets a contract extension
The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Monday that they have signed Adam Gaudette to a contract extension. This is big news for the team as they now have one less free agent to worry about.
Adam Gaudette is one of the first Blackhawks free agents to get a contract extension.
Gaudette played in seven games this past season in Chicago after being traded from Vancouver at the deadline. Gaudette put up a goal and three assists with the team and is someone fans can expect to see next season at some time.
Gaudette should be on the opening night roster, while there are only so many spots and a lot of young forwards, the 24-year-old is someone the team thinks highly of. His contract extension is for one year and just under a million.
Gaudette is betting on himself and that he can show he is worth more. While Chicago is getting a good young forward for another year at a good price. Now with Gaudette signed here are some of the other names the team needs to worry about:

Players with an asterisk indicate they were given a qualifying offer, others will be hitting unrestricted free agency status on Wednesday. Now for Kampf, I am not too worried as the team should not have to worry too much about getting him a contract. I think they might just be hammering away on some details on that contract.
Offering Zadorov a qualifying offer is interesting I hope they do not give him a contract that they will end up regretting, especially with the Seth Jones extension on the books for 2022-23.
The Blackhawks team is starting to take shape, now we just have to wait and see what moves are made on Wednesday when free agency begins. What do you think the opening night roster will look like?
