The Chicago Blackhawks easily have a top 5 best prospect pool in the entire league. Adding in the third overall pick and most likely another top 5 pick next year will only bolster the team's farm system prestige even more.
While the Hawks will be looking to see improved development from the younger players already on the team, they will be hoping for some big seasons out of the guys who haven't quite made the jump to the NHL level.
Here are three prospects who I think are primed to have big seasons this year.
Sacha Boisvert: C, Boston University (NCAA)
Coming off a really solid freshman season with the University of North Dakota, registering 18 goals for 32 points in 37 games, Boisvert should see big improvements after transferring to Boston University this past offseason. BU is filled with some very solid NHL-level prospects like Ryder Ritchie and Jack Murtagh, among others.
Boisvert was easily one of the best freshmen in the NCAA last year, and now, with a year under his belt and on a better team, I am expecting big things this year. He already has all the tools to become a really good NHL player with his very good two-way game, physicality, and overall offensive ability.

There are so many things to like with Sacha, and it shouldn't be long before the 6-foot-2 centerman is ready to make the jump to the NHL level.
Anton Frondell: C, Djurgårdens IF (SHL)
This one shouldn't be to anyone's surprise, as the Hawks' third overall pick, Anton Frondell, should be in for a great year with his team, newly promoted to the SHL.
There were some reports that maybe Frondell could fight for a roster spot off the jump to start the season, but with his team in the SHL starting their season earlier than Hawks' training camp, there isn't much reason to rush him, though he could probably make the team with the state the Blackhawks team is in right now.
Regardless, we should definitely see Frondell in a Blackhawks sweater at some point this season once his season in the SHL is over.
Frondell has loads of potential, having a wicked shot mixed with really high hockey IQ, and plays a great two-way game is a recipe for success, especially at the NHL level. His game is very transferable to the NHL, and with him already playing against men, he will pretty much know what to expect once he makes the jump.

Djurgårdens should have a pretty solid team as well, with Frondell's best friend, and New York Islander first round pick, Victor Eklund on the team, and Blackhawk legend Marcus Kruger will be with him as well, so it will be very exciting to watch Frondell this season in the SHL and hopefully at the NHL level towards the end of the season.
Roman Kantserov: F, Metallurg Magnitogorsk (KHL)
Last but certainly not least is 5-foot-9 winger Roman Kantserov, who has been playing in the KHL over the past two seasons. Kantserov is easily one of the Hawks' most underrated prospects. He potted 13 goals for 38 points in 47 games as a 20-year-old, which is very impressive in a tough KHL league.
Though he is on the smaller side, he is shifty and has a ton of offensive ability. Like Frondell, he has been playing against men at a younger age and has shown lots of flashes and improvements from year to year. He was pretty streaky this past season, but with two years of KHL experience in hand, you should see some more consistency and should be in for a big year.
You've seen a ton of high-end NHL talent come out of the KHL in recent years, like Demidov, Michkov, and Kaprizov, among others, and not saying Kantserov is necessarily going to be like those players, but he has a ton of potential.
I think the #Blackhawks got a good one with Roman Kantserov #HOTR

This will be the last year on Kantserov's deal in the KHL, so he will be eligible to sign with the Blackhawks once this season ends. Hopefully, we will be seeing Kantserov in a Blackhawks sweater in the near future.
