With few other highlights in recent years, every game—and even every shift—Chicago Blackhawks All-Star Connor Bedard plays have been intensely scrutinized.
The expectations for Bedard have been lofty despite him being a teenager during his first two seasons. High standards come when a player gets labeled as a generational talent.
He still puts on a show despite some thinking that two straight seasons of registering over 60 points is not good enough.
Coming out of juniors in Regina, he was best known for his high-powered wrist shots, which led to many highlight reel goals. Those highlight reel goals have continued since putting on the Blackhawks sweater.
As this was only the completion of his second full year, and as talent begins to develop and flourish around him, this should only be the beginning of a career of highlights.
After rewatching all of Bedard's career goals and here are his top five goals so far...
No. 5: First career NHL goal
Bedard scored his first goal on October 11, 2023 in Boston.
It was scored in a way that I am sure that Connor did not anticipate. After collecting on a rebound on his own shot, Bedard gathered the puck and tucked it in the net on a wraparound.
No. 4: Double toe drag shot
This one came on December 12, 2024 against the Islanders in Long Island.
This power play goal was especially filthy after toe dragging not once but twice on his way to unleashing one of his patented wrist shots.
No. 3: Best snipe so far
This one happened on January 28, 2025, in Tampa Bay.
This goal may have been Bedard's best snipe in the NHL. He shot the puck near the red line by the boards and still somehow snuck it over the shoulder of the goaltender.
No. 2: No-look goal
Bedard scored this one on November 12, 2023, at Florida.
Bedard showcased not only his amazing hands and shot during this goal, but also a bit of forechecking. Not only did he make this goal from yet another impossible angle, but he was not even looking where he shot the puck!
No. 1: The Michigan goal
He scored this on December 23, 2023, at St. Louis.
This goal was memorable for me for a variety of reasons (one being waking up my baby with my excited shouting), but this was also his first goal against the boring team from St. Louis. Additionally, this was the first "Michigan" (a lacrosse-style wraparound goal) that Bedard scored in his career.
We had never even seen him attempt this in a game before he scored this beauty. Even Wayne Gretzky admitted he could never score a goal like that.
