If you haven’t already jumped on the Anton Frondell hype train, today is the perfect day to find a seat. The third overall pick of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft has gotten off to a hot start for Djurgardens IF in the Swedish Hockey League.
His first of two goals on Thursday against Rogle BK is a highlight that will follow him through the rest of his career. Havard Salsten chipped the puck over to Frondell, who drove the net but had his backhand attempt stopped. Goaltender Arvid Holm, a former Winnipeg Jets prospect, held his position at the left post, so Frondell reeled in the rebound and quickly went around the net to score a “Michigan” goal.

Frondell wasn’t done there, as he tied the game in the final seconds of the middle frame with this absolute snipe. New York Islanders prospect Victor Eklund and former Blackhawk Marcus Kruger had the assists.

Unfortunately, Rogle scored twice in the third period to win 5-3. Frondell finished his night with two goals and six shots on goal in 15:44 of ice time. He has three goals and five points in his first eight SHL games of the season, averaging 14:21 of ice time.
