Chicago Blackhawks young star Connor Bedard has had a strong start to his NHL career. On the ice, he is simply one of the more dynamic stars in the entire league. Fans across the league are noticing as he became the player with the top-selling jersey for the 2025-26 season.

Is Bedard a long-term investmet with memorabilia?

With the honor of having the top-selling jersey in the 2025-26 season, Bedard has now held that spot for two consecutive seasons. In this day and age, that is hard to do from a marketing standpoint. Players changing teams and rosters are rarely the same for long. Holding that spot above some of the NHL's elite players does have merit. He is being recognized as a player whom people want to see. A player who stands out among the best. Also, a player who could carry this league for years to come.

When fans buy clothing or purchase memorabilia, they have hope that that player or team will lead them to greatness, and they appreciate what has been done. Bedard is not going anywhere, and while he has already done amazing things, he could be an elite player who wins multiple awards and possibly multiple Stanley Cups before he retires. He is a gifted player, and with some roster adjustments, he could further evaluate his game. The first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft has seen a rise in his offensive production since his debut. His rookie season saw him produce 61 points; last season, 67; and this season, 75, in 82 games. For his career, he has 75 goals and 128 assists for 203 points in 219 NHL games.

Who did he beat out?

Bedard is one of the brightest and most highly skilled players in the NHL. For the 2025-26 season, he beat out Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals), Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins), Jack Hughes (New Jersey Devils), Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche), Cale Makar (Colorado), David Pastrnak (Boston Bruins), Austin Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs), and Macklin Celebrini (San Jose Sharks).

During the 2023-24 season, his first in the NHL, he broke sales records for jersey sales almost immediately after he was picked by Chicago. Bedard may have a third straight year of top jersey sales based on two things. His dominance on the ice and the fact that he plays for the Blackhawks, a team with a rich history and a strong following. His professional attitude also goes a long way, showing his growth both on and off the ice. Jersey sales do little for the standings, but they do help grow the game in Chicago and across the league. A young player of his stature outselling elite players and legends? He has put himself and the team back on the map, and they look to both take a huge step forward in the 2026-27 season.

During his final season with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League (WHL), 90% of the team's total merchandise was sold with his name attached, often resulting in low supply. His rise to the NHL should not be a surprise, as it gives the league a new star who should have an impact for years to come. After all, he does wear the jersey of one of the all-time great teams in NHL history.
