- Darren Pang remembered his good friend Troy Murray on his first birthday since his passing. The rink has been a lot less bright since we lost Muzz.

- Some of Chicago’s top athletes, including Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar, sent messages to Robert Lewandowski ahead of his debut with the Chicago Fire. The Polish superstar made quite the first impression, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over Charlotte FC.

- On this date in 1999, the Blackhawks signed forward Wendel Clark. His time in Chicago was limited, as he was released after scoring two goals in 13 games. He returned to the Toronto Maple Leafs for the third time in his career, where he had two goals and four points in 20 games before retiring.

NHL Chirps
- Although the IIHF recently upheld its ban on Russia, Bill Daly has gone on record saying that their decision will have no impact on Russia’s possible participation in the 2028 World Cup, which is not an IIHF event.
- Mavrik Bourque spent most of his time with the Dallas Stars playing wing. However, Nashville Predators general manager Chris MacFarland said he’ll get every opportunity to play center with his new team.
- The Athletic ran a fun piece over the weekend in which they looked at the one jersey they’d like to see brought back for each team.
- WWE Champion CM Punk paid homage to the Minnesota North Stars at SummerSlam last night. As a lifelong Blackhawks fan, he doesn’t need to get the cheap pop by wearing the colors of one of his favorite team’s biggest rivals from an era past.
