Everyone in the hockey community has been surprised by the start of the Chicago Blackhawks' season. They have improved in all aspects of the game, with significant boosts primarily coming from the young talent and effective coaching. The Blackhawks have already scored several highlight-reel goals in the first month of the season, and the best ones are featured below.
#5 - Frank Nazar's First Goal of the NHL Season
Nazar began the year with a bang by scoring the very first goal of the NHL season. He set the pace for himself and the rest of the team by showcasing his speed and finishing off a breakaway set up Tyler Bertuzzi. Nazar's shot is an underrated part of his game, and he was able to beat one of the best goalies in the game with a well-placed shot underneath his glove.
#4 - Ryan Donato's OT GWG
Ryan Donato has picked up right where he left off last season by notching six goals so far this season. During the game at home against the Ducks, the Blackhawks gave up a late goal to Mason McTavish which sent the game to overtime. Donato found an open slot right in front of the net and capitalized on a nice feed from behind the goal by Connor Bedard.

#3 - Frank Nazar's Goal and Celebration from the Beatdown in St. Louis
Nazar finds himself on this list twice, mainly due to his speed and determination. He has continued to show that he is worth every penny that he signed in his contract extension. In this play at St. Louis, Nazar picks the puck up at his own blue line and speeds by two Blue defenders to lift a shot over the goaltender's shoulder. After the goal, he crashes into the Blues' netminder, and a scrum breaks out; however, he lets his fun personality shine as he shrugs off a player and finishes his celebration. This grit, determination, and attitude will continue to gain him fans across the city. I'm sure we'll see this type of play from him at least 6-7 more times this year... (Yeah, I’ll show myself to the penalty box.)
#2 - Andre Burakovsky Goes Between the Legs in Winnipeg
Andre Burakovsky was the biggest free-agent signing by the Blackhawks heading into this 2025-2026 season. He has always had great speed and a nice wrist shot; however, he has had difficulty remaining healthy. At the beginning of the year, he has taken advantage of being on the top line with Connor Bedard and is third on the team in points. During the game in Winnipeg, he found himself accepting a dime of a pass by Bedard and finishing the goal by putting the puck between his legs and scooping it over one of the best goalies in the league.
#1 Connor Bedard's First Career Hat Trick
Connor Bedard has come out with a vengeance to begin the season. He has plenty of motivation to start the year (not that he needs any) with a potential Olympic appearance on the horizon and a chance to silence national critics who have labeled him overrated. During the game against Ottawa, Bedard showcased his entire arsenal of skills. For his first goal, he put a shot right in the top corner on the power play. The second goal, which was perhaps the best of the night, was scored when he skated solo through the neutral zone and shot the puck between the defender's legs for the goal. Finally, he notched his hat-trick goal with his patented wrist shot.

I, as well as many Blackhawks fans, look forward to seeing many more of these highlights over the coming months and years.
