It was a Chicago sports frenzy on Saturday night. The Chicago Bulls won 125-107 over the Dallas Mavericks. The Chicago Bears with a COMEBACK 31-27 WIN over the Green Bay Packers. The Chicago Cubs signed third baseman Alex Bergman to a five-year, $175 million contract. AND YOUR CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS earned a 3-0 shutout win over the Nashville Predators Saturday, thanks to Drew Commesso's outstanding performance. The 23-year-old stopped all 37 shots faced in net for his first NHL win and first career shutout in the victory.

With the win, the Blackhawks improved to 19-19-7 on the season and earned a huge two points over their Central Division rivals, the Predators, as both teams push toward the playoffs.

Chicago was playing the second game of a back-to-back, losing 5-1 to the Washington Capitals on Friday, who will play the Predators on Sunday. According to CHSN analyst Darren Pang, both teams traveled after the game and stayed at the same hotel.

After a scoreless first period, Tyler Bertuzzi scored the game's opening goal in the second period on the power play at 6:41 off a feed from Connor Bedard for his 23rd goal of the season to make it 1-0 Chicago.

But Chicago didn't stop there.

Late in the third period, Nick Lardis gave the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead with a wrist shot from the slot for his fourth goal of the season. Connor Bedard notched his second point of the night with a pass from below the goal line.

Ryan Greene added an empty-net goal late in regulation for his fifth of the season, ending a 19-game goalless drought and sealing the 3-0 final.

The Blackhawks' special teams were a key factor in the win. Chicago went 1-for-3 on the power play and a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. Both units rank in the top 10 in the league.
