With the history of the NHL, change is certain. Expansion, rosters, rules, and the salary cap just to name a few. But what about the fan experience? Lifelong fans get it, change is a necessary part of the game. Parts of the game that are not about the product on the ice, but part of the experience fans have during every game. One of these things is the food and beverages consumed before, during, or after the game. Regardless of your tastes, the average fan will find something to enjoy. We take a look at some of the food and beverage options around the United Center for Chicago Blackhawks games.

Fantastic food options outside of the United Center

Some of the Blackhawks' faithful swear by these favorite hangouts as the best spots to grab a quick bite or a favorite beverage.

The Barn Hockey Bar is a must-try that does catering, parties, and events. Hall of Fame wings, Panger's Poutine, Big Buff's Pretzel, and Bertuzzi's BBQ are just a few of the delicious items that are named after Blackhawks' greats. Waiting for your food and you're good at golf? Take time to visit the Gilmore Room. This is a state-of-the-art golfing room that has simulators to fit your golfing obsessions. Want a drink with your meal? They offer cocktails, beer, wine, and liquid classics to make your meal more special.

The Lincoln Park Kitchen is a fantastic place to eat if one is looking for some home cooking. located at 2200 North Clybourn Avenue, this is a brisk 15 minutes from the arena. American comfort food is their specialty, serving food from scratch and house-made desserts. Dine-in guests get the luxury of complimentary valet parking and guests are welcome to bring their own beer or wine woth no corkage fee. Healthy portions at a low price brings customers in daily for great food.

Next, the Billy Goat Tavern is a popular spot around the arena. They are located at 1535 West Madison, yet another two minute walk to the arena. The original location was "born" in 1934 when Greek immigrant William "Billy Goat" Sianis purchased the Lincoln Tavern. Billy Goat bought the Tavern for $205 with a check that bounced but it was later paid back with sales from the first week after opening. This location has something for everyone and is sure to keep the fans full.

Fantastic choices inside the United Center

The United Center is home to both the Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is currently the largest arena in the United States. The arena was started in April of 1992 and opened on August 18, 1994. Since the grand opening, the United Center has more than 200 events per year. These events include the 1996 and 2024 Democratic National Conventions, concerts by The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, U2, The Who and The 3 Tenors. The United Center has also hosted Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, The Big Ten Basketball Tournament, The NCAA Basketball Tournament, the 2017 NCAA Men's Frozen Four and the University of Illinois Men's Basketball. This shows that the "UC" is built to make accommodations to feed delicious food to thousands of people.

If going to the United Center for a Blackhawks game, there is a massive number of food choices for every fan in attendance. There are many options, from simple concession foods to food that will make the fan want more, and also an extreme amount of different beverage choices.
