Blackhawks Chirps
- Andre Burakovsky was one of the few offseason additions by general manager Kyle Davidson. Todd Welter feels he might be the playmaker Connor Bedard needs to get off to a hot start.

- Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reported that the Blackhawks have settled a lawsuit from another former player who accused the team of failing to act when informed of sexual assault allegations against a former video coach during the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs.

NHL Chirps
- Dominic James signed an entry-level contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 23-year-old was a sixth-round pick of the Blackhawks in 2022. He rejected a contract offer after his college career wrapped up at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and elected for free agency.
- Veteran defenseman Brent Burns will not play in the Colorado Avalanche’s first preseason game. According to Colorado Hockey Now, he’s dealing with a “minor tweak” that isn’t considered serious.
- Former Blackhawks forward Max Domi has yet to take part in training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs because of a lower-body injury. According to head coach Craig Berube, he’s expected to rejoin the team for Sunday's practice.
- Another former Blackhawk, Artemi Panarin, appeared to dodge a bullet. He missed Saturday’s practice after leaving early on Friday. He is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
- According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, free agent forward Jack Roslovic rejected an offer from the Edmonton Oilers this summer. The 28-year-old center scored a career-high 22 goals last season and remains without a contract.
