After a scoreless first period, Mikheyev scored his first goal of the season to put the Blackhawks up 1-0, jamming the puck past the glove side of Mammoth goaltender Vitek Vanecek.

But that's not all.
Mikheyev would chip in an empty-net goal to seal the deal in Chicago for the Hawks.

Narrative Takeaway: A Veteran Delivers
Mikheyev now has 22 goals with the Blackhawks in his career, following up his 20 goals from last season. The 31-year-old was brought in to add scoring depth and veteran stability for the Blackhawks. He had a great performance tonight in the Blackhawks' win.
We also cannot forget about Andre Burakovsky's game-winning goal in the win. The 30-year-old scored on the power play with 11:05 left to play in the third period. This was also his 700th career NHL game.
