The Chicago Blackhawks had five prospects nominated for college hockey's most prestigious individual award.
However, none of them were named finalists for the Hobey Baker Award.

Dominic James, Aidan Thompson, Sam Rinzel, Ryan Greene, and Sacha Boisvert all were part of the initial nominees. They did not get enough consideration to be among the final 10.
All five still had excellent NCAA regular seasons.
James had 14 goals and 16 assists during his senior season at Minnesota Duluth. The Hawks took the center in the 2022 draft during the sixth round. CHGO's Mario Tirabassi rated James as a level three prospect in his prospect pyramid. That means he is a quality prospect who projects to have a long, solid NHL career.
James going on to have a thriving NHL career would be a huge steal given he was taken late in the draft.
Boisvert scored 16 goals and passed out 14 assists during his freshman season at North Dakota. He is considered the Hawks' fifth-best prospect according to the Athletic's Scott Wheeler (a subscription is required to access content linked).
Boisvert was one of the three players the Hawks took in last year's first round. The center is also considered a level three prospect according to Tirabassi.
Greene had 13 goals and 20 assists during his junior season at Boston University. The hope is after Boston's season is done; he signs his entry-level contract. Greene is ranked as the Hawks' 12th-best prospect according to Wheeler.
Greene, one of the two players the Hawks took in the second round of the 2022 draft, is a center that Tirabassi considers a level three prospect.
Thompson has scored 18 goals and passed out 31 assists during his junior season at Denver. The center was the last of three third-round picks the Hawks made in the 2022 draft.
Wheeler has James and him just outside of his top 15 Blackhawks prospects. Tirabassi classified Thompson as a level three prospect heading into the season.
Rinzel was the only Blackhawks defensive prospect to get a nomination. He won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Award after scoring 10 goals and 21 assists during his sophomore season at Minnesota.
The hope is all, but Boisvert sign their entry-level contracts and start their professional careers with the Hawks AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. Boisvert could elect to sign too, but it could not hurt for him to spend another season in the NCAA to add some more size much like Rinzel did this season.
